Looking for a Job!

Hello everyone who is viewing this thread :)


So recently I've decided to come back to fansites because they are a lot of fun, even though they can be dramatic I miss being with the fun community that are involved with them!


Past Experience:
Habbox: Radio DJ (3 Months)
HFFM: Radio DJ (2 Days)
HabboHoliday: Head Radio DJ (1 Month, Promoted)
DiscussHabbo: Radio Manager (2 Months)
ViewHabbo: Owner (4 Months, Did every job)
FlyHabbo: Radio DJ (2 Weeks)


None of this is in order (alot of old fansites that do not come to mind), I've been with fansites since 2010, and took a long break from them do to an over whelming of drama involved. But, now I am ready to start working I've really high experience in managing and doing administration also tons of forum experience with both MyBB and Vbulliten 3.8.7 and 4.2.0. If I get offered for a department job I have to warn you I'm a very picky/ honest person, if someone is not doing there job properly or is a bad manager I might say something. The issue with being honest, but with managing I can manage every department except I lack experience in news and graphics even though many people say I'm good at it.

I can tend to be a complainer and get on peoples nerves, but this is because I hate when people get lazy and know there is an issue yet do nothing about it so I bug the person until the job is done (so don't mind that)

Whatever department you might be interested in, you would need to apply! Sounds like you're mainly interested in DJing, which applications are open for! Applications for Content Design, Rare Values, News, Help Desk, Events and Competitions are also open, so check them out!

The pages at https://habbox.com/#!/DepartmentsLanding will help you figure out what department you'd be interested in, and I'm sure any manager would be happy to answer any questions you might have!

Your previous roles only last on average a week or so, how does habbox know you're not going to quit after a few days????

I did a bit of super rough maths, the average time was ~7.6 weeks. Still not exactly a long time, but it's quite a bit longer than 'a week or so'.

Might be worth noting that the page for Content is out of date (says Skynus is the manager) so perhaps content should update the content on the content page...

Assistant manager list is also out of date on Events.

As is News...

And Features Manager on Forum page...

And Competitions...

On the manager list for Graphics, Cameron either has wrong dates or they are the wrong way around.
@Gumy15; perhaps you should apply for content, looks like there's plenty to do :P

There are only a limited amount of staff working on the website and it can't all be done absolutely instantaneously! We've been working hard on getting a lot of the information up to date, one of the priority tasks is the department pages and the majority of them have been done. The positions you mentioned have all changed quite recently; we're not automatons and it can sometimes takes a little while to do it.

There's also so much other content being worked on as well: if we were JUST in charge of doing the dates I'm sure it could be done the next day; the next hour, but there's other projects, ideas and pages being worked on at the same time!

The events department page didn't even list Bolt as a Assistant Manager, let alone Intersocial - that's how out of date it was... So stuff with Intersocial not being on there, I'd understand - but others should have been done. You even edited the Content page before to put yourself as the manager in the list, so it's not as if you've not got around to updating that page yet.

Mark, what you seem not to understand a fansite is a fansite. Does that mean all fansites are good? NO! The reason why I do not work at a fansite for long depends on the people, as many people know there's alot of rude people who try to think there the best etc. I come to fansites for the fun of them, but many people take somethings to far and for that reason I do leave. Like HFFM for instant they offered me a job i took it.... I noticed how awfully rude and mean the people were so I quit (I got teased and bullied)

So judging someone for how much time they've worked for a site is uncalled for, also I think I have plenty enough of experience! I would rather have what I listed then go on for pages of experience which means the persons undedicated.


AND ALSO I'VE WORKED FOR HABBOX BEFORE! (I started in 2011, as a Radio DJ when Jess was Radio Manager)

I have not touched the page since I've been manager. Some people specialise in adding dates, some in writing the description on the pages and both parts don't always get done together. The problem is, a year ago, we stopped work on V6, being told that V7 was coming soon, and worked on that. Now there's a very awkward gap between the both; but I can assure you that updating information is the top of the priority list at the moment for the site, and it will hopefully be done soon.

When I said you, I meant 'you, the department' - but that wasn't very clear, so my bad :) And I thought this was already discussed? Content was told to stop working on V6, but after so many months of doing nothing, that decision was reversed? So I don't see why that's relevant anymore?

Because it took a while for staff to begin working on V6 again, then for a good half a year there were very very few staff members; most of whom worked on the wiki, and only a few on the main site. The priority tasks is something I only brought in this month and it seems to be paying off so far, and a lot of information has already been brought up to date!

But why does that have any relevance anymore? I mean, if you were still told not to work on V6 I'd understand, but now that you can work on it, I'd thought people would be :P

Anyways, I can understand the difficulties with a lack of staff, at least you're not the news department!

Because then there was a backlog of updates, because there was ~6mo of no work on it, and we wrote brand new updates pages for V7 which have since disappeared, so a lot of staff (including myself) quit then - so there was 6 months of updates to catch up on PLUS the current stuff, with few (experienced) staff members to bring the pages up to scratch.

For now though, I'm setting tasks and planning for V7 whilst using the current workforce, who I am extremely proud of the work they're doing on both the sites. It's not perfect, not by a long shot, but I'm working hard to make it as good as it can be, and when a normal member comes along and slates an entire department for one or two tiny aspects it's very disheartening for both the manager who's put in the work and the staff who are working hard on that aspect. This isn't just about content anymore, many other departments get this too.

I don't know whether I'm allowed to say this but I will anyway.
I'm sure all of the Content Staff will agree that we all have a preference to which we'd like to do - wiki or main site.

The only people who have been working on main site were me and @Emily;. Since @Demi; joined the department, she has been working on some of the pages too. I have moved away from the main site a bit after a stint of updating some of the department pages to conform with a new template that we made to make the site look tidier and more uniform.

As @lawrawrrr; pointed out, things are being done and it's a shame I can't sit here and show you the things that are being said about the site because it would prove that Laura and the Content Designers are wanting to keep the site up-to-date.

I think it falls down to an issue that is also troubling HabboxLive at the moment (@Despect; and @Grig ) that they would love to update the site to the point where it is in 2013/4 and not back in 2009 or whatever. But what is the point? We don't know when V7 will be released and until we do, we can't work out how much "effort" it's worth putting into the sites to complete overhaul them.

In my opinion, we should forget about V7 asif it isn't even being made and just carry on updating the site to the best of our ability. However, with only 2 and a half people (me being the half) really doing main site (while the rest of the Content Design team mainly doing wiki work), updates take time to notice, request the page, do and then put them live. If people reported errors on the site more often (HELLO HABBOX FEEDBACK), like rare values do, I think updates would be a LOT quicker.

I don't know, I just reported errors in this thread but I just got shot down by your manager and given excuses rather than 'Thank you, will be done in due course'.

As I said before, I do realise there is a lack of staff... But V6/V7 shouldn't be an issue. You can't really use the excuse 'Ah, we don't know when V7 is coming, so we'll do no work, since our work will be wasted...' - As you said, you should just forget about V7 and keep updating V6.

The fact is, you'll still have to update staff lists when V7 comes around anyway? I agree that you can't completely overhaul the website, but actually making content correct is just editing text.

And when did I slate the department? I simply pointed out some errors that needed changing and decided to comment on your 'These pages haven't been updated straight the way' comment, which wasn't true :P

If pointing out errors is counted as slating, I'm not sure what is. If anything, events is the department that gets slated...

Your post seemed to be extremely negative about the department and staff because one or two tiny things hadn't been added. Very minor problem, would have been quicker to PM or VM me rather than posting sarcastically to this thread.

Well, it wasn't sarcastic, I told the person looking for the job that content needs staff, and as you said yourself, you do have a lack of staff...

In the future, I'll VM you any issues then :)
