Woo the new year is taking place and EastEnders is getting quite interesting. Here are some spoilers.

The Eastenders storylines seem to be improving, so I'm looking forward to the multiple returnee characters this year.

I hope the story lines this year are better than last year because Eastenders was very boring last year.

Loving the storylines atm, I think its going to be a good year for Eastenders, the new exec producer seems really promising :)

Kat is in terrible pain and struggles to get back up after her fall. When Alfie returns home, he is shocked to find Kat in pain and rushes her to the hospital. Alfie is scared as he waits for Kat's results…

Meanwhile, a guilty Nancy regrets revealing Johnny's secret and tries to take it back by claiming that she was lying, which the Carters seem to believe. Johnny also plays his part to 'prove' he is straight with a public display of affection with Whitney. After seeing this, Danny tries to make Johnny uncomfortable.

Later, an apologetic Nancy tells Johnny that he should be honest with their parents about his sexuality. Shirley also offers her support to him. When Mick tells Johnny that he would love him whether he was gay or not, will Johnny reveal the truth to his dad?

Elsewhere, Ian seems to be missing but Lucy and Peter eventually find him at the allotments. Ian tells them that he just wanted time to think, but Peter isn't so sure and makes a mystery phone call for help…

Aww tonights episode was nice. It's nice to see that Mick has that soft caring side to his character.

He signed up to play someone who exactly isn't the hardman archetype (he already turned down the Carl role in the summer) and wanted to try a different role for once.

I was shocked when Jane appeared out of nowhere. They did a good job of keeping that quiet!

I wonder how long Jane will stick around since she's on Waterloo Road as well. Mind you depends what the next series of Waterloo Road has in store for her, she could be making a soap change :P
