When did you get your first mobile phone?
11 i think, possibly 10
quite young like 8/9
I got some hand me downs when I was fairly young just to fiddle around with, but my first one was probably around age 11-12.
probably 11ish, i remember having awful nokias that didn't turn on when i was a bit younger just to play with
I believe I was tenand was one of the last to get one in my class. It's crazy seeing kids as young as 5-6 with them nowadays. A six year old I look after sometimes in work get an iPad.....WHY?!
I was 13.
I was 13 as well.
I was 13 and one of the last people in my class to get one.
My first phone I got when I was around 12? I didn't use it to call or anything, I just played games on it.
The first phone I got to actually text on and everything would have been 14 approximately, but I didn't start texting a lot until about 16/17 lmao.
around 13
When I started Secondary School
i was not about 10, 11 or 12!!! shocking . i was 13, 14 when i got my crappy sony ericson
i was fourteen i think
Like 9 I think. It was a Nokia and I used to play snake on it and text my mum lol.
I got it for my 11th birthday for the move to 'big school' going into year 7 and having to walk to school. It was some kind of Nokia handmedown from my mum I used to text all the guys ;)
Had that crap phone til I was almost 14 haha
i was 8 and never understood how to use it, after that i didn't get another phone until i was 11
Got my first, good old Nokia 3410, on my 11th birthday!
Like 11-12 but that is when nokia bricks were only out haha. Everyone had those but I had this really old Samsung flip up!!
My first phone was a Sony Ericsson K800i and I got it on my 12th birthday ;p
When I was 11, and it was a Siemens :P. Then went through 3 or 4 different Nokias and now currently on my 3rd iPhone.

The nokia phone with the flashing sides.
I was ten because I started walking home from school on my own. It was just a Nokia that cost £10ish though
Probs around 2001. So 10 maybe? My first phone was a Nokia 3310.
I was 10 and I remember feeling great because my brother had to wait until he was 12 hah. We both started with the same phone which was a philips and it had one of the little aerial things on the top of it, so old school. picture here. then we both upgraded to the nokia 3310 which was the best thing ever due to playing snake 10 hours of the day.
Think about 12 or 13
8/9. i used to get phones all the time when my dad had finished with them
I *think* it was in Year 7 or Year 8.
I think I was 14 or 15.
Was in year 7 I believe so was like 11 haha got a fab pink slidey nokia
When i was 15. Or is it 16? Around that time. :)
When I was 10 I got a Nokia haha
Got one in year 7, So 11, and the only reason I was allowed was to tell my parents I got to school fine
my mum still doesnt let me have one
I was 11 when I first got mine
I think there is a big difference between the phones that we had at 11 and the phones kids have these days anyway. Even if we had a phone at 11, it hardly did anything. We were charged 10p-12p to send a single text and if your parents were anything like mine you were only allowed £10 credit a month. So we played snake and only texted friends occasionally. (Or bought a sneaky £3 Habbo credits package and hoped your mum didn't find out how you were spending your phone credit... but that's not the point!)
But these days, 11-year-old and younger have access to Facebook and the internet so easily via their phones. They've got their music on and they're downloading videos and could be chatting to strangers on the internet because they think it's safe or they think they're being 'cool' to do so.
I would be fine giving an 11-year-old a phone like our old Nokias, but I wouldn't want my kids to have something like an iPhone until they were at least 14. My cousin got an iPhone when she was 10... And an iPad when she was about 12 (the word 'spoiled' comes to mind!) and she is always on it and thinks it's the best thing in the world. When I was her age I rode my bike out with the kids on my street, and played with my dolls house and other things that children do... She hasn't been interested in toys since she got her first computer at 7...
i was 11 =)
