banned from hxhd

So today I woke up at my usual time of like 3pm, and a few hours later I recieved a snapchat from our lovely dbgtz with a picture of me speaking to him in chat.
Now I was wondering why he had that because I haven't logged in, in days. So a few hours later he finally responds and tells me I have been online today which confused more me because I wasn't even online.
I log in my account, it says I've been logged in a untrusted location, and when I came to go to hxhd to ask if anyone knew who had hacked me cos they had been talking to my friendlist and hadnt taken any furni, I noticed I was banned and was then told I had trashed when I hadn't?!

anyone
help
whatever
pls
idk
whats
going
on

Pretty sure there's a thing in the Habbox Staff forum as well as in the HxHD handbook stating if your account is compromised then there are consequences :) Probably best to PM the HxHD managers though.

I'm saying this in a way that probably sounds a little rude, so I just wanna say I don't in a rude way;

1. I'm not Habbox Staff anymore so I can't read that.
2. I don't know why I'd get consequences for it if I didn't even know I was hacked until hours after.
3. I've been told about stuff management has said about this matter so I don't really wanna message some.

@Gintama; WTF has happend?!

Isn't there a rule which says it's your fault if you get hacked...?

I doubt Habbox will do anything if that is still in place... if they do then Kardan will need to make his own campaign against it!

Yes there is a rule in the about what happens when you account is hacked. 'You will be dismissed if your Habbo account is hacked and used against Habbox i.e trashing rooms'

Yep. However she had already been dismissed and it was partly our own fault for forgetting to remove her rights. So I think Sophie has agreed with her that she can be unbanned seeing as her rights are removed now so there's nothing she can do anymore.

It's not like I planned getting hacked, and what I find the weirdest is that they didn't take anything, they literally hacked me and just trashed the HxHD. Someone from Habbox has to be behind this because only people in Habbox know I go to HxHD.

Cases like these seem to be happening all to often imo. I remember when I resigned as staff my rights weren't removed until a month or so after. Surely there should be a process in place where managers post resignations and Matt then knows to remove rights?

If you've got the security question setup then they can't trade unless they know the answer to the questions, that's why no furni was removed. Makes me think that it was someone from Habbox as it's strange that a hacker would go straight to HxHD and trash the room.

I think that rule is good to be honest. I see why you was allowed to be unbanned but in other cases it makes sense. You must take reasonability for your account... unless Habbox staff hacked into your forum account and got your password lmfao! :D

But well done on getting unbanned woo

It's now the mystery of finding out who this person was and asking why they would waste their time hacking an account someone rarely uses to trash. :L

How can I even take responsibility for something that wasn't my fault? It's not like I woke up and thought "Oh, I'll get hacked today, that'll be my mission."

The best I could do is use a password I thought no one would know and set security questions. I really don't understand how it's my fault for getting hacked and why everyone is basically saying it is.

If you read it properly you'd say I said in 'other cases'. xoxo

Plus you made your password, if it's:

despair

you'll get hacked and that's your fault

so yeah

The real mystery that you should be concerned about is how the hell did they hack your account in the first place. If I were you i'd try to improve security on your accounts, whether that be multiple emails, different passwords, not givinng people answers to possible security questions (e.g. name of first pet, mother's maiden name), etc. There's no way in finding out who hacked you and why, the only thing you can do is prevent it from happening again.

I've changed my password to something completely different now, and my security questions are something I can hardly remember myself, that's really the best I can do for my account.

My email had an different password to the one I had set before, but just in case I changed it different from my Habbo account's new password. XD

I was behind the desk when I witnessed your account online, trashing the room, Dani.
You didn't speak in the desk though.

I'm pretty sure that's the reason it's in place. Although it's definitely not your own fault if you get hacked, your account is still your own responsibility. It's very difficult for hackers to get into your account if you have a strong password (and a strong password on the email that your account is linked with), don't click/go to any links on Habbo in case they're scam sites and don't give out your password.

Glad you changed your password and things Dani. Weird that they only came into HxHD to trash.. Not something a hacker would normally do I don't think but I suppose I wouldn't know :P Must've been someone already at Habbox, yeah...

Well they couldn't trade any furni because they couldn't get through the security questions which is lucky for me, but they spoke to a few people in messages which is how I learnt that I had been hacked. :L

I'm assuming nothing was taken because your account would have been safety locked :P
