Basically I hired a web developer for a large sum paid monthly as I couldn't afford it all at once. The company has now went into administration and has no money and I'm left with a half finished website.
Does anyone know what my legal rights are in this case?

I've looked on the many company house website it says the company is active and also Last Accounts Made Up To: 31/03/2013 (DORMANT). He did say that they were looking for an administrator but this was ages ago and the website he used is no longer available but there was nothing on his site to say it was in administration. When a company goes into administration, it doesn't always (but often does) mean the company is dissolved. It means that a (or a team of) Administrators are brought in to see if they can salvage what is left of the company or see how best to sell the assets of the company and minimise losses.
They don't have to publish administration and could continue as normal until dissolved.
But, as others have said, you want to try and initiate proceedings now. Are there any termination / cancellation clauses in the contract? i.e. if one party does not fulfil their end of the contract?
As soon as the company is dissolved (declared bankrupt), then it's too late.
