When I was being a bad boy on Habbo I managed that.
Nowadays, err, I know exactly how much is in each of my accounts, but do not keep a spreadsheet. I know how much money I can afford to spend, and ensure I do not go over the top. Always have enough for flights...
No. Because I still live at home I have very little money coming in and there's no real need to spend it. I earn about £140 a month and let most of it sit in the bank because there's not much else to do with it.
I know when I move away from home I'll give myself a budget and stick to it as best I can. I'm a fan of lists and plans so the idea of budgeting should be easy for me.
I do some money management, monitoring income/outcome and making slight predictions. It's not particularly detailed in it's break down as I don't have that many bills as I made it quickly, but it proved a bit troublesome in that it sometimes doesn't add up correctly so I'll be redoing it for the next uni year.
I attempted to keep a spread sheet but got bored quite fast tbh, I pretty much know what I've gone and manage by money accordingly. sometimes I get carried away with shopping, particularly from the xmas sales but I use a credit card to push some payments back a month (never use what I can't afford). Unexpected or unplanned nights out cost me a fair bit though :( best thing about the credit card is to delay a payment, knowing I can sort it next month though and means easily booking a holiday and paying back the next month, worse comes to worse I'll just pay the minimum or a bit more but never had that issue is 3/4 years
i'm very bad at money management, currently sitting at -2018 o/d but yeah for direct debits & things it's all in the head

Doesn't look like I'll be going to Uni so I should be ok :D And the people I know at Uni seem to accidentally blow most of their money on nights out but I don't drink so I *might* be slightly safer in that sense!Quote:

Last year I went a bit more detailed and take note of everything I spend and make sure my spreadsheets are accurate based on bank balance etc.
I just sorted one for this year which will be even worse as I plan on moving out so will have a load of more bills (but that'll be on a dif a/c), so have spreadsheet for my bank a/c atm and my paypal (as I pay quite a few stuff with paypal and have bank transfers going to it). then will do another one for joint a/c in a few months :P

I don't use spreadsheets but I keep on top of the money I have coming in to my accounts and am careful what I spend. I used to have a document that I used when I didn't have a bank account but now I guess it's mostly in my head.
