I always get super sad when one dies/gets injured though :'(

The funny thing about the Grand National is a lot of the time, it's not the favourites who wins. Last year Pineau De Ru? or something like that was 66/1 and they actually won. I need to see the list of runners on the day before I choose. I always do a couple each year, though I am yet to win.
No, it's a waste of money I find. If I'm going to bet on something I'm going to bet on something I actually know about and something that has a decent chance of happening.
Heard the helicopters flying overhead all today for it.
This is the first year I'm old enough to bet on them, so might this year.
I usually just pick the one with the funniest name when I have a competition with my family to see if "our horse" wins.
We don't actually watch it though, we just look up the winners.
