Right, and I'll tell you why most people are :

Back in the war days, 100s of years ago, during wars, a warrior would usually carry a sheild and a sword.

Warriors knew that their heart is the most vital to them, and keeps their body going, so to protect it, they always carried their sheild, in their left hand (the side of the body your heart is on), so, naturally, the right hand was used with the sword, so had gotten the most experience.

That's what my history teacher told me anyway, mind you, she could be a complete loon.
