a few months back my thumb and forefinger were completely numb for weeks and it got to the point where i couldn't even turn handles to open doors or hold up pencils since i had no feeling in them. i decided to google what it could be and it said it was a sign of multiple sclerosis so i freaked out :( eventually went to doctors and turns out it was just a trapped nerve
i still do it now though which is stupid
anyone else do it or have done it?

Yeh I did and like laura it made me so paranoid about the possibilities on the things it could be but I correctly diagnosed myself with Osgood-Schlatter.
I think when you Google something like this you get such random results for the smallest of things which probably aren't related to u but then you're like o wait but like 4 months ago i had that or like o yeh like 2 years ago that happened as well so I think u def get paranoid but should def go to a local GP or Doctor.
i've only once correctly diagnosed myself and that was about 4 years ago. was losing a lot of hair and i saw that thyroid problems was a possible cause. looked into it and i had all the symptoms of an underactive thyroid and when i went to doctors he confirmed itQuote:

yeah all the time. i usually hate going to the doctor cus i feel like im wasting their time with all the little issues that i have so i would rather just see what the possibility is and if ill be okay. when i was getting my migraines really bad and suffering from all the dizziness the other week the internet made me aware it was probably vertigo, which it was so i popped myself to the doctors. think it's nice and helpful to give you an idea and check your symtpoms.

Yeah but I know its a bad thing to do. Thankfully most of the time a self diagnosis from googling is wrong.
Uhh yeah I occasionally use them symptom checkers but 99% of the time I dont take any notice from them

ive diagnosed myself with literally everything, I go to the doctor like oh I'm dying and it's always something minor like anaemia or a cyst. but its good to get it checked out I suppose.
Yes and I usually find it helpful. It doesn't make me panic as I'm usually just wondering about small symptoms and deciding whether I need to go to the doctor or if it will just go away.
So a few months ago I'd get terrible vertigo whenever I stood up, rolled over in bed or moved my head around and it was awffuull :( So I googled it and it turns out there's this thing that comes loose in your ear and shifts when you move your head that leaves you with vertigo but it goes away after a few weeks so it was nice to know what it was and that I don't need to do anything.

Yes all the time lmao. Last time I thought I had an underactive thyroid but ended up with anaemia and another time convinced myself I had ovarian cancer lmao so not good. So hard not to do it though!

I always do because it's so hard to actually get an appointment at my doctors so I feel like instead of trying to get an appointment I should try google it but it always comes like OMG YOU'RE GONNA DIE then I just get really paranoid so end up booking an appointment.
All the time even though I should know better
