Sexuality Advice Thread

Hey guys. I thought I'd make this thread as it seems inevitable that people will have sexuality related problems/questions. I am homosexual/gay and have been through it all. Counselling, relationships, parents, friends, family, the vilification and abuse. I decided to become a Youth Mentor, specialising in sexuality related problems. I'm not university qualified nor professionally qualified, but I have learnt a lot through experience and have come across many problems varying to each end of the spectrum.

So, if anyone has any problems or questions they need answered/advice given about, please post here. I'll try my best to help you out, and no judgement will be passed on my behalf. In addition, I ask anyone who wishes to help out do so in a mature fashion. If you don't want it to be public, PM me and I'll help you out.

Please no discrimination/vilification, abuse or inappropriate comments. If you feel the need to express your disapproval of sexualities that are not right in your mind, please find a forum elsewhere to do that.

We really did need a thread like this, For the people who don't know their sexuality or are having other sexual/relationship problems. Such a kind person you are volunteering to give out advice :)

Thanks for the kind words guys, if anyone has any questions at all... they don't necesarily have to be about yourself, any questions about sexuality in general, things that you've heard, I'll do my best to answer them. Any chance of this thread being stickied?

Are you being serious or not? If you are, then just go with what you think is right. Experment safely though don't jump to label yourself. Think about it, do your research, and see where that takes you. Don't feel you have to be sexually active to know either, it's all to do with the brain chemistry. ;)

Aww good luck with your job in the future Arcanum ;). You're doing the right thing. We shall have equality between us and straight people one day! It's only a matter of time :D

Arcanum, I am not gay. But I know some people who are at my school. I just found out that one of my closest friends is gay, and it makes me sad. He decided to tell ME over everyone else. Is there anyway, he can become Straight? (not gay anymore)

I know no one else would try to help him, but ive known his for so long like 10 years and hes only 14. I still want to be his friend and all but its kindof weird.

If you can't accept it then, you need to talk to him about it.

If you can't accept your friend for who he is, I guess it kinda shows what a shallow minded person you are and it's quite obvious you don't care for him at all.

I find it quite obvious that he cares for his friend, but is being close minded.

If his friend is gay, he should give his friend encouragement for admitting it rather than trying to hide and change his sexuality. But, overall, I think he should try to accept his friend for who he is rather than trying to be something hes not.
