!!!!!!!! the last job I quit I felt EXTREMELY guilty and my boss made it worse... She cried, asked what happened, begged me to stay, kept asking if I was sure... then the last week of my two weeks notice, she completely iced me out and everyone else did the same. I felt less guilty after that and then I started feeling so much better.
I hope you feel less guilty ASAP! We all have to do what's best for us!
:( Horrible when you have to do stuff like this!
But you can get through this! On to better and bigger things I hope :O
i need a change and that, but learnt so much from past 3 years here. Kids are actually my mates.
most of them are taking next stage exams in June (I finish end of June) so at least I can say i've got them through a massive chunk of their Cambridge English.
But need to do whats best for me tbh
I think you only ever feel guilty about leaving job when its a decent job with decent colleagues etc...
but I'm sure that I'm sure that they'll understand, nothing lasts forever eh?
How cool am I seeing this thread title and thinking "but you don't work here???" because obviously everything is Habbox
When I left my last job they were initially nice and being like what can we do to make you stay then I had my exit interview in which I gave my honest opinions and they told me I only think they're not great managers because I don't understand what management is about. lololololololol
No I'd asked someone slightly less senior (who liked me) to do the reference already lol also it's very illegal to give a bad reference just because someone challenges you on the way you operate, if they do so without evidence that you were a bad worker you can take them to court for damages
@FlyingJesus;
ahh see I never knew all that!
I'm not worried about my reference here, they don't want me to leave and have said you've been 10/10. Happy days.
Ahhhhhhhh the excitement.
This would be so me if I ever won the lottery!!
I decided to pre-emptively find some academies in Barcelona that weren't even advertising jobs and send them my CV and a paragraph. Sent about 10 last night. Already had one academy email with me and they want to talk over Zoom/WhatsApp, and another 4 have expressed interest in my CV. Really happy!
That's amazing!!!
I have everything crossed for you! I'm sure you will smash it
:OGOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!
Sounds great! Good luck! [emoji1696]

Well done Dan, that's great news.
I got a new job offer like 3 weeks ago now but am still waiting for occupational health to acknowledge a form I sent them saying yes I'm healthy, and no work has never sent me off the rails before.
But the department I currently work for is in such a shambles I honestly cba. Keep fantasising about just handing my notice in even though I still don't know how long the formal offer will take for this new job just bc I've had enough of my dept now.
I handed my notice in the day before my manager came back off holiday, so I told everyone I was leaving and literally everyone acted like they knew nothing about it the next day when she came in. When she saw me she blanked me, told me to get on my department and work, she never achknowledged my notice until the last day when she got me a card (she was supposed to get me a gift, but couldn't afford it). The leaders (one in particular) bought me a few gifts and was heartbroken I was leaving, including the assistant manager. That manager has since been sacked, I still get asked about as my bf works there, I always have a job there waiting for me if I want it and if I go shopping there I have to free up at least an hour of my time because everyone still talks to me. Leaving was the best thing I ever did and I'm in a company that appreciate me so much more, the guilt won't last, especially if you leave to go onto bigger and better things.
Got the job in Barcelona after the interview, went really well.
Will be living here come September looks like!
omg THIS I always feel super guilty, but you gotta remember the company would drop you if they had to, it's all business.
Notice story time
My last job I was extremely unhappy and extremely stressed out, I did not have a... pleasant.. manager. We faked getting on enough but she was yeah just a bit of a bully. Completely reliant on my skills cos she had no idea what I even did. Anyway. I told her I was leaving in an informal way before officially handing her my notice, she got so mad. Shouted at me for something really small to do with work.
That was the last time I ever spoke to her.
She spent my 3 week notice period ignoring and avoiding me. Took my last days incl. leaving do where managers normally give a speech... off work. Hadn't taken annual leave in like a year, but took those 3 days off.
MADNESS!

Congrats!! Same sort of job?
So pretty. Would love to go see the Sagrada Familia again!
@lawrawrrr;
How did you react to being shouted at in work? That's something I haven't experienced yet in the workplace.
Yep teaching English to kids-teens-adults. It's a really nice academy and their methods fit in with mine so it's an ideal fit it sounds like.
After the horrendous year I had from last July which I nearly didn't make it out of, it's so nice to come out the other side now and look to the future! :)
Congratulations @-:Undertaker:-; !!!!
That's amazing and I'm excited to hear your stories! :D
I didn't do anything wrong to cause it so I pretty much just sat there in shocked silence. I was pretty used to abuse by her at that point. One time she literally physically pushed me out of her office so nothing would shock me. Verbal abuse was pretty normal, I was used to being made to feel like shit!
glad youve found a decet nice new job!!
Got the confirmation after they checked my references. :)
Woopwoop onwards and upwards!
My last workplace I was in, I was in a very heavily toxic infused office with people that pretty much had no ambition for anything other than moan about everything and drink tea. Handing in my notice to that place was the best feeling ever, pretty much did no work in my final week!
Been searching out accommodation and I think I am tempted to live in or near the Gothic Quarter. Not far from my future job, decent prices, right by the beach aswell.
Imagine walking/cycling to and from work everyday through this. Dreamy.

This looks so gorgeous! Also the location you're looking at (Gothic Quarter) sounds pretty perfect.
I'm very jealous of you and your new adventure!!
Looks beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. An envious commute.
Congrats on your new job - really hope this is a good move for you!
Just booked my flight home for 28th June. It seems really real now, virtually one month left.
If I think about it in school with the kids I do get reallyyyy sad that I'm leaving them tbh :( Gonna miss them so much.
Where's home for you in the UK @-:Undertaker:-; ?
No need to be. ;)

Good of the locals to not burn the Liver Building down with fireworks this year
omg 20 days left.
they got a bit annoyed that I was leaving 28th June and not 1st July, but i did say end of month and they didn't sort with me when the new teacher was taking over so i assumed he'd be here 1-2 weeks before I left like I did when I first started. All the kids found out today I was leaving!!
