I'm washing it before I put it back!
Not unless I drop it on the floor after I've used it
I wash it because changes are when I'm cutting bread, I'm making a sandwich so then I'm putting mayo or something on it, so I use the knife to put that on and then I wash after :)
Depends if it's like a soft sticky bread but ALSO a bread knife is basically useless anyway. Unless your bread is hard as steel the serration just tears everything apart and leaves carnage everywhere while a properly sharpened chef's knife cuts in a straight line without ripping
When you slice your bread, do you smash it down and then cut or are you lightly holding it in place?
Delicate letting the sharp edge do the cutting rather than the pressure, otherwise it squishes out of shapeeeeeeee
No, the worst bread slicer in the world is a bread knife
I wash before putting it back, did you not do the experiment in school where you put a slice of bread in a ziplock bag?! :%
I only use a bread knife to cut hard rolls though - otherwise I just use the table knife that I used to spread the butter or sauce... ain't nobody got time for additional washing up.
I hate this :')

I just brush off the crumbs and put it back. It's not like the knife gets dirty, so why bother washing it for just a few crumbs?
I usually just brush off the crumbs and put it back. If it’s just bread and no butter or anything sticky, it feels like overkill to wash it every time. Knife stays clean enough for the next loaf
Wash it every time! If a utensil leaves the drawer and is used for anything, it gets washed afterwards
I have to wash it after every touch. Including if i have more butter. The joys of having allergies!!
But it's not just dry bits of bread. You're wiping the bread off of the knife but there's still moisture in the bread that is now stuck on the knife
yeah if its that crusty bread i probs wouldnt wash it
or i'd run it under tap then wipe it quick at most
