Such a shame he didn't make it to his 100th birthday. Thank you HRH for a lifetime of service.
What's weird is only 10 minutes before this was announced today, myself and a friend were talking about his age/health....
It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen has announced the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The Dukedom of Edinburgh now passes to his eldest son, the Prince of Wales.
The funeral is to be on Saturday with only 30 people allowed - so a solely Royal Family affair with no politicians from across the Commonwealth or foreign royals. Prince Philip is to be laid to rest under St George's Chapel in Windsor where King George VI, the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret are also entombed.
The Countess of Wessex, Sophie, has described the Duke's death as "so gentle".

Tributes poured in from across the Commonwealth and world, but this tribute from New Zealand's Parliament really struck a chord with me.
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall viewed tributes left by the public, visibly moved.Yesterday @NZParliament paid tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh which started with MPs singing ‘whaakaria mai’ or ‘How Great Thou Art’ in the chamber of the House of Representatives #PrincePhilip 🇳🇿 pic.twitter.com/XZGoLz48G2
