Yes some films do it just for the sake of it.
As long as profanity is used correctly then it's okay in my books. City Of God for example.
A Clockwork Orange is a film that you'd expect a lot of bad language from, but surprisingly there's hardly any (they have a special slang)
Most films that have strong language state so before you see the film anyway and if you don't like it then don't watch it!
Well to me, swearing is part of my Vocabulary:p ANYWAY!! your right, alot of kids do get confused on the words but it also unfluences them, but i wrote a report on this and in the end, there are alot of people who swear and if the kids not influenced by the movies then something else will. its just a matter of knowing that swearings bad and not doing it, not wondering wat that word is?
If ya understand go, if ya dont...oh well (Swear)
I don't have a problem with swearing. I swear all the time.
If parents don't want their kids hearing too many swear words, they shouldn't let them watch the movies. Simple as.
never really noticed or paid attention... if words are acceptable on network TV now then they should be acceptable in movies. I never really understood the problem with language anyway, just because someone says a certain word is profanity doesn't mean that I have to believe the same.
The use of some words can be called 'emotive language' using a mix of words can have a different meaning of emotion on how its used. They don't simply use the words as a slang or for the fun of it, the meaning of it and what its doing is why there used.
You could say the same about music, alot of rap/hip hop use words like the 'N' one andalot of swearing because it has a meaning towards what there speaking about.
Also, if a film has an age rated mark on it, then its down to the decision of the watcher whether they allow a young audience to watch the film or not. It basically protects them from people who try to sue them.
The longest yard was originally a book written in the 30s when it wasent as bad to say that kind of stuff. And in the book, it was trying to make a point about racism. So that explains that, but yeah, there has been more.Originally Posted by Ziploc Bag
