It's more like foot and mouth than SARS, as it's an animal disease that in it's normal form doesn't affect humans. I think it's actually less dangerous than foot and mouth though, seeing as eating a bird that had bird flu won't do anything to you (the idea of cooking something is to destroy bacteria/viruses). The only way a human can get it is if they already have a full case of influenza and then basically get jiggy with an infected bird. You don't get it just by being close. In Turkey it spread to some kids.. but that's because they were playing barefoot football with diseased chicken heads. Sounds like a blast to me.
Erm....birds?

Just use google and there is not much ponit in worrying yourself silly about it. :s
have you heasrd they are thinking of making everyone with cats or dogs to keep them inside so they dont mess or eat dead birds
Okay this should help. One thing to remember about bird flu is that it cannot be passed on from human to human. It can only be passed on from birds to humans so if a human catches bird flu yes it can be deadly but it is not contagious.
The best thing to do is not to panic. If there is a bird flu crisis in Britain then we will all be prepared and ready for it. The virus that the birds have can kill birds and also humans therefore it is important if there is a crisis for us to be careful.
Do remember that only one case of bird flu has been confirmed and no where in the world is there a major bird flu crisis.
Don't panic, thats the best advice.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
