Practice doing them at home. Put both hands on the floor, about 30 cm apart from each other, put your legs back, and keep your toes upright on the floor. Make sure your body is straight in this position.
Lower your arms, by pushing each elbow out from each side and go down until your chin touches the floor. Then, coming up, do the same, keep the straight position, but bring your elbows back in so they're not out in each side.

    Hope this helps.

    same, sit-ups: awesome press-ups:rubbish
i fell flat on my face today and hurt my nose!
try to improve by doing the easier version of a press-up.

hands slightly further than shoulder width apart, knees on the floor, ankles crossed and back straight.
lower yourslef by bending your elbows until your chin touches the floor [or near enough in my case!] and then straighten your elbows. repeat as necessary.

and try not to collapse. it hurts
    Woof.
