    Default Ok, Need Help With CHMOD

    Right.

    I need to CHMOD an install.php file to 777

    When I try to do it this comes up in the ftp log

    [21:24:43] SITE CHMOD 777 install.php
    [21:24:43] 500 'SITE CHMOD 777 install.php': command not understood

    When one way doesn't work then try the next way.

    The moral of that is try doing it in cPanel.

    Dude, you need to have some patience here... remember you're the one asking us for the help.

    What FTP Client are you using and what is your host? Could be a temporary problem, but I doubt it. Just give some details.

    If your server is Windows then you don't need to.

    Use a different FTP program, try smartFTP. Once you have uploaded the file(s) right click on it, click properties/chmod and change the number to 777.

    Anyway, I've used core,smart and cute.

    Nothing wants to go.
