Train derails in Spain - 34 dead
An injured passenger is carried from the scene
At least 34 people have died after an underground train derailed in Valencia, eastern Spain.
"Initial investigations show it was an accident,'' said Vicente Rambla, spokesman for the Valencia regional government.
Early reports suggested a tunnel wall collapsed on to the train, causing a carriage to derail and overturn. As well as the dead, there were a dozen people seriously injured.
The city's emergency services department said the accident happened as the train was leaving Jesus station in central Valencia. Some 150 people were evacuated from the station.
Police cordoned off the area and a mobile hospital was set up at the scene
