I have a expanding navigation but when i put it on my site it pushes the whole layout down and makes big white gaps. How can i make it so it only makes one side of the layout go down with no big white gaps?

Seems like it is coded in tables.

set the out side of the layout as the background and when it goes down there wont be any gaps.

When you have sliced your layout you have the sides e.g. Main Content Box

Left side of content box-------------------Righ side of content box
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------

    Set it as the background.

Edit i used - to spread it apart. Forget that they are there.
