Its not my style tbh. I don't like how the portfolio and nav buttons are green and don't really go with the rest of the layout. Would write more but I have to go so imrpove on that and it'll get better

Well, I'm not going to write an essay on this simply because:

You've tried to copies Joe's idea. Which is ok, it gave you inspiration. But you've copied it badly. The white shape on a black background doesn't go that well, espcially on this layout.

The green of the headings are absolutly disgusting. What is it? The 70's? I think that would be rejected even then. where's the afro on the layout? Seriously, get rid of it.

The green writing doesn't go with the rest of the layout. The nav box is too big and plain.

You are never going to sell this. Before you even think about selling this, I think you should brush up on your PS skills.

The fact you use fireworks to make your layouts reflects on the quality of your work.

My advice, Get Photoshop, or stop.

    Sorry.

    Sorry.
Although you have said morealess what I wanted to say I and many other people would disagree with this statement. The following reasons:

    • Fireworks can do anything Photoshop can do in making layouts apart from adding silly effects
    • Macromedia Fireworks is for much more business-type layouts than the usual graphical which you are used to
    • They both cost a lot of money and you don't just say oh i'll buy Photoshop as well when your a teenager.
My advice would be to carry on as Fireworks MX and 8 are brilliant, but use your own ideas as this is obtrusive and unfunctional. The headers are standard and rushed and it's basically a copy of JoeComins with a few strained modifications of your own.

It needs a good background and a few things are slightly obtrusive and boring.

Good Luck. I give you a 3 for copying and lack of willpower.

Fireworks is only good if you know how to use everything on there.

And seriously, who buys Photoshop and Fireworks?

You really think a teenager could fork out £300-£450 for a piece of software?

Photoshop is better if your not that good at making layouts, or if you prefer it. I use it because i'm not that good.

    Sorry, but £3?

I use PhotoShop. I love PhotoShop. I hate Fireworks. Ive used it at school, and personally, I think it over complicates things.

I mean, I spend a few hours looking at random sites, and take maybe 5-20 screenshots, and try and reproduce tiny bits of each, and put them together to make a good layout, not just copy one

You can see the resemblence (can't spell) between this and yours.

Fireworks makes things harder and I don't think it's as good as PS.

You really think most people on this forum are using LEGAL photoshop and fireworks?
Who in their right mind would go and buy them to produce the quality of stuff on here? (Yes there are exceptions)

And if your thinking i bet your copy is illegal Josh-H.
    It came on my laptop.
