Default Taking PE short course but I have a Q

In the short course, do you have to do any physical activity and be assessed on that? I hate PE because my teacher isn't very good. I can't do very good sporting activitys and im starting to think about it.
    The question is:
    1. When the time comes, do I have to be assessed on my performance in the test?

A few months before the short course examination we got the option to drop it. I dropped it 'cause i was lazy and never made an effort in PE. I still had to do pe but didn't do the exam, only missed out on half a gcse & probably would have failed any way.
It might be different everywhere else though.

Well in our school, if you choose GCSE PE as an option like i have, you get assed in a sport, along with everyone else in the course, then at the end of year 11, you sit a examination, both scores are added together from practical and written and you get your GCSE A,B,C,D, ETC.

As far as i know in our school if you don't pick it as a option, you don't get any kind of tests on it full stop.
