    Default How do you make your own shoutcast server?

    Well, Habbo Fun FM Have there own shoutcast, and I was woundering, How do you make your own server? I Have tried with Cast-Control (Dont have a copy any more :@ ) but didnt work. Does any one know how to do it :S

    Get the linux shoutcast server.. upload to a directory.. download:

    PuTTY

    type cd /mydirectory/

    type: ./sc_serv

    There are instructions on the shoutcast website, how to run your own SHOUTCast, I think you only need is Apache? I'm not sure, you would have to double check the website. I wouldn't advise it if you aren't good with MS-DOS.

    You cannot have cast-control on a shared hosting account. You need a reseller (but most hosting websites don't allow cast control on their reseller accounts).

    also you need a host with shell access, cron jobs and fsockopen otherwise it wont work. Habbo Fun FM's servers have all these but he wont let ne1 else host their own shoutcast so dont bother asking 4 his MSN which I have. So therefore you have to find another host like this and there arent many and their VERY expensive. Also I would recommend you get SCPanel as its a lot better than cast control. http://www.scpanel.net/
