i was talking to my mom today & the conversation turned to songs that remind us of our childhoods.
most people i speak to seem to have one or two, and yeah, for some reason it really interests me. sooo;

what song(s) sticks out for you and why?

the main song for me is everything but the girl - i miss you (like the desert misses the rain). to me it's just a typical 90's song. & my mom used to have it on cassette (oldskoolbrap) and used to play it over & over again. although its been about 12 years (since i'm guessing i was about 4), i can recite all the lyrics rofl. other songs include;

steps - 5,6,7,8
a-teens - half way round the world
sixpence none the richer - kiss me.
