Well yeah this whole talk of best concerts and stuff has brought up the idea of what is your favourite venue. Now yeah I know we all live in different areas so let's try and keep it simple (e.g. London/Manchester).

My favourite venue is The Astoria in London. I like venues where there's not too much of a distance so you can throw stuff at the bands. Too small and you don't really feel the atmosphere enough. Also, it's good to have a venue where they're not too strict on ID.

Atmosphere is different wherever you go. Small venues [Rock City - Nottingham] for example have great atmosphere for the MUSIC.

Large venues [Hyde Park, Milton Keynes Bowl etc] are great for the atmosphere of a gig... I went to see Foo fighters in Hyde park with 84 999 other people, it was legendary. I was near the front however I admit it would be pretty rubbish at the back.

i think smaller venues are better. theres more 'intimacy' with whoever your seeing. the manchester club academy was amazing when i went to see paramore & madina lake. it only fits about 100 people, so its not too crowded either.

Birmingham Academy 2 - 500 capacity so big enough to dance, but not too big that you lose the atmosphere.

Well I live near the 2 biggest casinos in the world. Mohegan Sun uses their basketball court for their concerts, its set up so its hard to get a bad seat. Its pretty neat, usually Im far away though (very expensive). I saw R.E.M. and Coldplay there.

I like the smaller venues, there's a bunch of 'em in detroit but I've never been to all of them, I went to magic stick and I really liked it, it had a really cool feel to it.

I quite like Brixton Academy. It holds almost five thousand, so it's not the smallest of venues, although I think that's just enough. I feel there's a great atmosphere there. I really would reccomend it, especially for the more well-known acts.

Why would you want to chuck stuff at the band?

I prefer festivals to gigs, so massive fields for me, with trees to sit under if it's really hot

I went to warped tour this summer at tiger stadium in detroit, it was a cool place cause all the booths where the bands were at was in the stadium well like around the seats where they sell concessions and that stuff, and if you wanted to take a break you sat in the seats and watched the tigers practice, it was pretty cool, and I don't even like baseball.
