why do you use them? just-one banned my IP last night so i have to use a proxy. i thought hxf dont like giving out IP bans? ;| and i done nothing wrong.

I think its there to make it harder for people to access the forum, and people who cant change their ip will bebstuck off the forum.
The thing that worries me is on other forums where I have Mod rights, I have seen people with the same IP as me, so if someone with the same IP as me gets banned then I will be banned. Then again I think if I reset my router my IP changes...

it takes 2 mins to change an IP in firefox, you don't even need to restart to do it. so ip banning is pointless. Originally Posted by Wig44.
