    Default Open Debates.

The debates forum as it currently is, is kind of pointless. Theres never any debates, and its boaring as at best theres only one, that doesn't interest everyone.
Im pretty sure im not the onlyone who thinks this.

Could we Please have the debates forum as it was Orignaly. That is an OPEN forum. That people can post there own debate threads in, And then anyone can join those debates.

No one cairs about winners or loosers in the debates, the point is just the debating. Just a single forum people can debate in, and create a debate topic if they so feel like it.

    Would this be possible?

I agree with this, or at least make the debate leaders active.

Or maybe they should just have a debate forum mod, we could have 10 debates going on at one time, with an expiry date, the debates would be selected by the users etc etc.

^All of that requires more explaining but i'm sure they could work out a plan somehow

all that would do, is make more work, and slow down the forum, without adding any possible advantage? let users make debates, and debate. Mod it normaly. Thats all you need and it would run a whole lot better.

    I agree with this.
I'm sure a lot of people enjoyed debating and now nothing seems to happen any more

I agree with Entor. Why does it have to be this super-official thing with winners and losers and set ups? All it is ask a question and see how people respond.

I completely agree with mentor, if we have someone setting up debates (Jin) they could be away, and the forum would not be active at all. I say let users start their own debates, and add more Mods to the section so there'll be no rule-breaking etc.

Yay, now theres proof as well that alot of people agree with me on it

I do realy think it would be useful again, there may actauly be a few worthwile debates again if they do make the change.

I also agree. It hasn't been used for ages since Jin and Jack were last here. open debates that are set up by users would be more useful and will provide a more open selection of debates.
This would stop that pat of the forum being wastefull.

I agree. However though users should be able to post their own threads, it should be made so that SMods / Mods / Admins had to approve the thread to make sure it was a worthwhile / appropriate debate. But yes it should be turned public to a fashion. We can have a subforum in there for the "official" less common debates.
It costs nothing to be a good friend.
