    Default Ice Cream & Theatres

Can anyone, please, PLEASE solve me my mystery?

Why is it tradition for theatres to sell Ice Cream in the intervals of their productions? I mean you could have anything to sell in an interval of a production, but no matter what genre of play it is you always get ice cream. I have tried looking on the internet, but I cant find an answer.

This isn't for a school project, or for some wacky coursework - its for my own peace of mind. I've been wracking my brains out all day. SO if you know, please tell me before I explode

    Thankles in advance
    Sammeth.

Because there is loads of flavours of ice-cream, therefore there is a wide variety for the people, whereas with sweets & yogurts there is a limit to what you can stock.

Also, ice-cream that is rather posh/well known is rather expensive, therefore they can sell that at the theatres and charge people loads for it, getting loads of money from their sales.
