Default layout size?

As the title says... can someone tell me a good default layout size

800x600 and make it expand sideways.

There's no real default.

800x600 And 800x800 are the most common but alot of people use diffrent sizes.

If your creating a design, use 900 x 800 size, and then make the main bit of it go within 750px.

If your coding one, try and code in XHTML, CSS, and use %'s to get it expanding (fluid)

Well common practis is 800*600 as thats usealy the minimum desktop resoultion people are going to be useing, although now days alot of people are moveing towards 1024*768 and upwards, so alot of designs now more cater for this reagion, if theres not any desperate need for compatabilty with old computers etc.
Although a fluid layout is never a bad thing :p

well my current ones are just to test the new layers ect i have created so il use a bigger area next time i create one
