People are just going around buming one news system then when they notice they every man and his dog is using it they go on to another free one for a bit and bum that one, make your own, theres 100s of tuts out there.

Even though everyone uses it Cutenews is still in my opinion the best, easiest to use, most secure MySQL'less news system out there. And it can easily be turned into a cms if you know how to code the templates.
