    Default XBOX 360 HD-DVD player

I found this out from DVD monthly's hardware review: The HD-DVD player for the XBOX 360 can not be played in full HD (1080p) which you could achieve witha VGA cable; but the highest output you could get using a component output is only 1080i. You may be thinking 'dude what about HDMI?' but the player doesn't have one and neither has the 360 console itself.

Ok basically 1080i has twice the frame rate and half the resolution compared to 1080p using the same bandwith which means that the image becaomes blurry on flat screens the don't support interlacing.
