    a mock genre invented by the klaxons as joke to the media

    orrrrr

    sort of like 80s synthesizer beats with guitars and sharp melodies mixed with catchy lyrics?

    yeah that's pretty much it.

    band examples include klaxons themselves and things like new young pony club, cansei de ser sexy (aka CSS) and sometime hadouken! are thrown in with the tag.

    The term got coined by Merok Records' director, and Merok released Atlantis to Interzone, which started the whole New Rave scene off.
    Also, CSS & NYPC aren't new rave, so why do people think they are? :rolleyes:

    I don't know why NYPC are in there under 'main exponent' - they're not New Rave at all!

    Hadouken! are crap! No way new rave, they get this "grindie" tag mainly when they are hardly grimey!! Lead singer is such a grime wannabe.
