    Default Certified Hosts...

Right I have a couple of suggestions regarding the Hosting side of the forum. These ideas might not be that good I don't really know but I'm interested to see what people say about them.

I am aware on Habbox Forum you cannot post about anyone being untrustworthy so I had an idea regarding this. A few months ago I opened a thread regarding an idea of setting up a website for Habbox certified hosts however this never went anywhere and I just put it to one side.

We had a meeting with allot of people over MSN when this idea was thought up and some people suggested just stickying a thread and getting a couple of people to administer who is and who isn't trusted on the forum and another idea of mine was that if there is a dispute over a host being listed or not listed then a poll could be opened asking the members of the forum to vote on if that host should be certified or not.

Not only could this help stop people being scammed it could also stop so many threads and posts being displayed regarding companies being untrusted which is against the rules.

Tell me what you think of this idea please, I'd be interested to see if it could work.

Very good idea. Also include some info, ie, prices, how long they've been up for, user rating (out of 10), how fast etc.
I wont be on so much this week - but I'll be on. :8

What would the original criteria for inclusion be? Open 4 months, no more than 3 complaints, etc. etc?

Also, we wouldn't rate them, only hard facts such as time open, prices, plans, etc.

Some details need to be hammered out but if those all work out this could indeed go forward.

I'll have a good think about what criteria we could include. I was mainly thinking the following.

    • Staff Professionalism
    • What Support Options are available
    • Reliability of host
    • Bad/Good Customer Comments
    • Prices and Packages Available
That was my main idea of how to rate the host was to base it around QUALITY of the service provided as the main factor and do that by looking at the support and uptime but mainly over customer comments and generally what the forum think of the host.

I would be happy to take some ideas on how to manage this or what main criteria needs to be taken into account. I would also need some ideas on how many people should be in charge of choosing if a host is certified or not and what forum members could do the job bearing in mind they would have to have a good knowledge of the market, visit the Web Hosts and Web Market sections regularly and not allow biased opinions to enter their mind frame while choosing which hosts are good and which need improvement. The whole idea of the scheme should be based around how hosts can improve to become certified and to encourage good services from all hosting companies on habbox. It shouldn't be a scheme to say "he is a scammer" or "he is unreliable" it should be "these are the following reasons we cannot certify your host and this is how you can improve to become certified". The whole idea of this would be to encourage hosts to improve and good use of the "Web Hosts" and "Web Market" forums.

I'd like to hear your ideas and comments people!
