    Tables were never designed for layouts.. just for tabular data.

    Ok, but what are tables, on layouts? whats wrong with them, you can write on it.. thats the main thing right?

    Tables just make it more complicated than it is.

    I think its simpler remembering: <div></div>;

    than

    <table><tr><td>&nbsp;</td></td></table>

    I duno, it is still easy to do many things with tables, for exsample with this forum, on the main page, creating divs which will line up in colums effectivly can be a real headace, more so when you find IE has decided to plonk them half way down the page to start with as well.
    Hopefuly as the css3 standard developes etc it will become somewhat easyer to do that kinda thing with it though.
