Michael Vaughan has stepped down as the ODI captain for England.
He was contemplating his decision since England's poor world cup, and felt it was best to leave now since he realises he probably won't be around for the next world cup.
He also said he wants to prolong his Test career for as long as possible.
Main contenders to take over his ODI captaincy are Paul Collingwood; Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Strauss. (Although looking at recent matches, Strauss shouldn't be included since he hasn't played many ODI matches in recent times.)
Although by the time the next world cup comes around, Collingwood will be nearing 35 years of age.
Perhaps it should be Pietersen for a long term captaincy

Stauss would be good, but as said, not played many ODI matches recently, so I would say Pieterson.

I don't know why they've considered Cook for the running, he's a great player but he has not played much ODI for england at any level.
The only other player I would of considered is possibly a bowler (say Hoggard if he plays)You french fried when you should have pizza'd. If you french fry when you should pizza, you're gonna have a bad time....
