my best friend of 6 years has just told me she's lesbian, the other day.

i have nothing against gay people, i'm bi myself.

but its just kinda weird once you associate someone with being straight n then you got shocked.

and she told me like after people she's only known for 1 or 2 years.

    hmm

so your not happy because she didnt tell you first, because shes known you for longer than the other people :S

quality not quantity imo. and does it really matter what order she told her best friends?

Maybe she told you after because she was scared and afraid of what you would think. Telling your closest friends can sometimes be the hardest.

Oh well, just try not to treat her differently. Still the same person. & I totally agree with ^. Nice advice.

Chill out, at least you've been told now.
    Good luck to her.

I wouldn't take it personally, she may of told you last because she was scared of how you would accept her the most?

I had a good friend (admittedly I moved away 2 years ago, and contact has been dodgy) but I found out he was gay over myspace. Wasnt a big suprise, I knew already but still.

Anyyways. Sometimes its harder to tell the people youre closest to, incase you rejected her, or if she wasnt sure, she might not have wanted to risk it.
