right you'll probally flame me but im postin anyways

can you (management) do something about the rep system.

for months you've been going on about how it's out of control and bad etc, but can you finally act instead of talking about it - unless somethings already going on..

eg; the pointless good rep debate - your removing them, then your allowing people to buy reputation which is basically the same as a pointless good rep (see the contradiction?) you've heard it again and again ino but mad and nvr all think it was a bad idea, things arnt going to change themselves. (could of sworn they do anyways)

eg2: bad reputation - it seems that there is no point to bad rep someone as 10 minutes later they'll check there CP, and report it even if they have been an ***, and it always will be removed (as i've seen multiple times :rolleyes

also those rep titles like habboxforum legend and stuff are wrong because im sure as hell there are some people who dnt deserve that title (and some people who are getting real close to it) and i have no idea how they made there rep unless it was bought.. which brings back to eg1.. lool anyways yh lol

so w/e i'm just venting cos sooo many people are complaining about rep lately and i want management to do something about it.

You won't get "flamed" for that. It is a constructive post with the good/bad sides mentioned and ways they can be resolved .

Regarding "eg1": We are thinking about removing the bad rep feature. Its currently being discussed within management.

"EG2": Bad reputation is only remove if it is deemed pointless (as in revenge reps or reps with unacceptable material in the comment etc). We could remove bad repping altogether but there was a poll a while ago where people wanted to keep it (I think thats what it was about may have been about the rep system in general - check if you wish).

I've noticed that with how they remove bad rep, just because the person says it's pointless.

They should only remove 'revenge' reps IMO.

I quite like the option of bad repping people who deserve it
Maybe there is a way of stopping people seeing who gave bad rep? at least that might stop revenge and arguments.

VIPs pay to see who repped them so they can't remove that, most VIPs like the option to be able to see who repped them so I don't think it would be fair to remove

I said seeing who bad repped you would be good to remove :s
I know vip's pay to see who rep them i did add that feature tyvm.

if you good rep somebody most sign their name in the comment anyway so if vip's lost it then its no big deal i did join as vip once just so i could revenge rep i could have got their bad rep on me removed but i had more rep power and of course you find a bad or stupid thread/post so they cant get the bad rep removed.

You can't just remove bad rep and keep good. Then, what's the point of good rep? Because, you rep someone for a good post, and you bad rep someone for a bad post or something similar. If you remove one, you should remove it all.

If you ask me, it causes nothing but trouble, and it doesn't even have a purpose. I've seen forums work perfectly fine without the rep system, so you should just get rid of it.

I have added a poll to this thread since people have mixed feelings regarding the system and it would be nice to clearly see what the majority think .
