Thread Ban

Hey,

Just wanted to know what you guys think about this feature:

and whether you think it would be worthwhile installing it. I know that a lot of the time, peoples' threads are derailed by two members who weren't even involved originally, and have to be closed due to flaming. With this feature, we could ban members from threads, and this way the discussion could continue.

I've suggested it to MAD, and its still up to him whether the potential risk is worth the benefits, but I wanted to see what public opinion was I've also included a poll.

EDIT: To clarify, due to concerns being raised, this would ONLY be usable by members of the Moderation team, whether normal moderators would have it is still up for debate, but normal members would not be able to ban each other from threads as it is highly abusable.

I think if people are banned on runescape they should be able to view a ban thread, And they can use that thread to ask why they was banned and try to get unbanned, Once you've replied you can use this plugin and ban them from that thread/forum? I don't know but this just seems a good idea while I'm writing this. So thats a yes from me.

Also it would stop alot of arguements because Moderators or Smods and so on can just remove the users who are starting to argue.

Yah i think it a banned thread would be better than just a closed thread. Maybe people will pay more attention if their is a banned thread and not remake a thread like it. i.e. reputation threads if they was to get banned maybe people would pay more attention and not remake them instead of them just getting closed.

I dunno it would be good when i wanted to ban people from my thread but then everyone would probably want to ban me from their threads and i'd have nowhere to post
