Well, make sure its alright with your friend if you go out with her. Also, find out if she likes you. You might feel embarrsed if she says no. Then, if she does, ask her out on a date, maybe go t the movies? Then, while at the movies, ask her out.

well, with my current girlfran, i basically talked about movies in theaters until i found one we both want to see, and bam, asked her to see it with me. it was smooth, not going to lie.

wrong. you have to be confident, you can't only ask people out who you're positive will accept. and it's not embarrassing if you do it right. most girls, even if they say no, are flattered if they're asked out.
