    Default I bought a guitar...

    an LC-100.
    For those who play,
do you think it would be possible for me to teach myself through videos on youtube/articles on the net, or is it absolutely necessary that I get someone in PERSON to teach me?

    Thanks

Did you learn from having zero knowledge of it though?
I know nothing about it, I don't know how to play any notes, read music, etc.

My cousin taught me basic 'power chords' but nothing too advanced, just where to put your fingers when playing rhythm and how to use my little finger. I learnt all the songs and chords and everything myself.

i basically taught myself. i still don't know how to read real notes and it took me three years to get motivated enough to learn chord names. just go to tab sites, its what i did.

and don't let anyone ever tell you that you need to learn music theory or have classical guitar training, because the most creative musicians ever dont use that crap.

i know several people who are amazing guitarists for their ages, but have taught themselves. sure they've had lessons here and there, but not like a strict once a week type of thing

once your down pack with basic chords and picking it starts getting easier. www.ultimate-guitar.com is a great site. I only bother with tabs, learning to read music bored me to death.

Tab is the next generation of stuff!

Even Rockschool Grades play in Tab if you want!!!!!!!!!!

Just remember when u learn to play guitar it is better to start simple and grox.

I play bass, but then its still a guitar!
