    Got a computer guide from which? and it said Microsoft are in process of making a Virus Protecter heard of it? Microsoft defender?

    It's actually Windows Defender as it comes with Vista. It's will all version's of Vista that I know of and it's a very basic anti-virus, anti-malware, I don't honestly know who could trust it. Microsoft does do a premium Anti-virus/Firewall/Security kit though which you pay for, Windows Live OneCare, I haven't heard much rave about it though.

    On October 24, 2006, Microsoft announced the general release of Windows Defender.
    Was the full release, lol. Beta was released in 2004..

    I wouldn't trust Windows Defender or Live OneCare if you don't want to click accept/deny for every webpage you visit.

    I use Trend Micro PC-cillin, it is great, runs in the background, never have to deal with it =]

    odea. I have this and it always blocks my startup programs and never lets me deny/allow them O_o
