    Default Grr tired!

    Worked at my current job from 10am till half 4.
    Then went and worked on a trial shift at nandos 5:30 till 10.

    Oh M Gee im shattered.
    Thats like 12 hours i worked non stop basically cause the hour in between i wasted on transport and getting there early and getting changed. so im ryl knackered.

    I was just wondering, surely its not legal for me to work that many hours when im 16 isit? I'm not bothered about it, because i like working. But 11 hours when someones doing their gcses in a few weeks is a bit much?

    Yeah it's illegal for you to work over 8 hours a day, have a read of the working time directive.

    Briefly, young workers have special rights under the Working Time Regulations. The rights of young workers - those over the minimum school leaving age but under 18 and those under the minimum school age on approved work experience schemes - differ in the following ways:

    * a limit of eight hours working time a day and 40 hours a week (unless there are special circumstances);
    * not to work either between 10pm and 6am or between 11pm and 7am (except in certain circumstances);
    * 12 hours' rest between each working day;
    * two days' weekly rest and a 30-minute in-work rest break when working longer than four and a half hours.

    Nando's messed my mate around. Got her to work a 5 hour working interview with no intentions of hiring her, and 'cause it was an interview she didn't get paid for it >.<

    But, I'm working stupid hours and trying to do A levels too, so I know how you feel mate.
