    Default Not sure if there is any way around it?

    My laptop is displaying...

    Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the the problem:

    1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
    2. Choose your language settings and then click Next.
    3. Click 'Repair your computer'

    If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

    Files: \Boot\BCD

    Status: 0xc000000f

    Info: An error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data.


    I've lost my installation disc, other than the above, has anyone got any ideas?

    There's no way to fix it without the disc.

    Can it be any Vista disc, or does it have to be the one that came with it?

    My laptop did that and i tryed 2 copys of vista and Xp in it and still not work

    Hi it just happned to my i just got it working ... Befor it gets to that screen it attemptes to go through boot up ..yes? so befor it does keep pressing F11 or F12 i cant remember which one .... then you should get taken to a system restore ..you lose all your files but you get you computer/laptop back ..

    P.s If it donst attempt go through boot up ..I dont have a clue
