What the hell? [GTA4]

I went into a free-roam game and nobdoy could inflict damage on each other, only themselves o_o. Somebody blew the car i was ddriving up with an RPG and i was unharmed however they were too close and killed themselves..

Can you turn friendly fire off in free-roam?
It was probably just a glitch..

EHHHHH?

They changed the friendly fire settings. They can't harm you, but you can kill yourself still. Even if something blows up next to them they dont die.
