    Default Sick hamster

    Hello everyone.
Well, sadly, my hamster seems to have 'wet tail'. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's where the tail of the hamster gets wet and sticky, and it has diarrhea. I have only noticed this in the past few hours, and this morning it seemed to be ok. At this hour and because its sunday, there's no vets or pet shops open, and to get it cured, the vet bill would be massive. The home treatments don't work as well.

I hate to see it in pain and suffering, but I don't know what to do. According to the internet, it could die within 24 hours, and I imagine it would be painful. I hate to see it in pain, but I don't like the idea of euthanasia on pets either. What should I do? I can't afford the vet bill but I don't want to see it in pain either

Can anybody help? All helpful answers receive +rep.

    Thank you for your help,
    ToxicPaddy

I don't think I should touch it, its in a very delicate condition. It looks like its losing its fur/fur becoming discoloured.

How would the vets bill be massive? It's a hamster. If it dies it dies, just get a new one...

Maybe he actually cares about his hamster. If everyones attitude to pets was that they didn't care about them and they'd just get another one why would they bother to get a pet in the first place.
