What do you think about the 24 week limit we have currently for abortion?
    Do you agree with it?
I saw the other thread and i was just wondering other peoples thoughts.
I think its terrible that people can still abort their child up to 24 weeks.
Alot of babies still do survive at 24 weeks if born....
This is a 19 week old baby, so you can imagine that at 24 weeks it will be like a full child life.

    Thoughts?

Personally, I feel it's up to the person pregnant to decide when and what stage they want to terminate.

Though.. I think that 6 months into a pregnancy you should have known long before whether or not you wanted to keep the child. I see no NORMAL decision into why people would have it at that late stage. Obviously if there are complication or the baby is disabled etc then fair enough.

I think that abortion is acceptable and people who ram it down everyones throats on how its 'WRONG TO MURDER' are just plain ignorant. It's not all about the unborn child, it's also about the people it affects and the lives that will change when it's born.

TO CONCLUDE: no i don't think 24 weeks is wrong.

I think the limit should be lowered to about 20 weeks becayse babies have been born at that stage and survived. I mean looking at that picture I find it difficult to think anyone could have an abortion and not class it is murder.

I find it hard to believe that you think that people are plain ignorant for pointing out the fact that abortion is muder. Im not going to ram it down anyones throat but everyone has strong oppions about it. Whichever way you really look at it... abortion is taking a life away. I mean yeah its up to a person but chances are they're going to regret it maybe in later life.

I dunno, you can't really put yourself in the situation till you're in it. I think they want it lowered to 20 weeks.

Limit needs to be atleast 4 weeks because at 4 weeks its a size of a bean.....When a woman is 2 weeks pregnant they will know about it and if a woman has unprotected sex and misses a period then they should get a test done straight away if they're pregnant and don't want it then get it aborted ...but if they leave it to late then they should have it...if they don't wish to keep it they should put it up for adoption

sorry what? do you have a clue what you're on about? no. clearly because you're not a woman and have never had a period.

    1. you don't know you're pregnant when you're pregnant at 2 weeks you have no signs whatsoever
    2. A pregnancy test does not show up untill you're due/a week late on your period?
    3. if you have sex right at the begining of the end of your period, it would take 28+ days to know you missed a period to know you could be pregnant.
    4. takes anything up to 2 weeks to have an abortion so if you found out 3 weeks into it, you'd miss the 4 weeks you claim to be the max?
    5. a woman can still become pregnant on the pill, so what about if she didnt knownly know she had unprotected sex and become pregnant?
    6. and to top it off, most woman don't record when they come on their period, so it's always a week out when you suddenly realise you haven't comeon.

SO AFTER ALL THAT, you're saying it should be 4 weeks max? HOW RIDICULOUS. You may aswell just ban abortion all together, would have been more logical saying that.

Honey! I'm female and I'm 22.....I know exactly what I'm talking about.
Some women will experience symptoms right from the very beginning while others will not experience any – even after the confirmation from a pregnancy test. Every woman is different in how her body will react to pregnancy.
There are pregnancy tests available which can detect pregnancy 3 days after a missed period....and if you go to the doctor even on 1st day of a missed period they can test you there and then.
Yes it takes up to 2 weeks to have an abortion but if the limit was brought down it wouldn't take that long.
No it wouldn't be more logical to ban abortion because I don't think they should be banned. The limit should be anywhere between 4-8 weeks....
    12 weeks at a push!

The abortion limit is fine I think, at the end of the day you need time to decide if you wanna keep the baby or not. An maybe there scared and not ready to give birth, or cant afford the baby, theres no father and dont think they can cope along, parents would be asahamed or it would be deformed.
I would want the best for my first child so I wouldn't have it if I didnt think it could have the life I wanted it to have, so yeah I think abortion is fine and so is the time you have to think about it.
