    Say I bought this:

    http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/070226

Would I just be able to connect it to my router wirelessly/by the ethernet port and print off any PC on that network (providing I'd set it up). Without having to have a certain PC on that it is mainly installed on like when you just do printer sharing.

    Thanks

I have a printer like that, Basically when you install it on one of your computers via USB you will then connect it to your wireless network and then anyone in the house can use it. Always good to read the set up guides, thats how it works on mine but if you get one it may have a ethernet port at the back.

Does the PC its installed on have to be on to use it?

If it's anything like the HP Printer I've got, it doesn't need the PC on to be able to print etc.

All you need to do is plug it into power.
You install cd on each computer and it auto finds it on the network
It doesn't even need to be connceted to a PC via USB thats optional!

Most printers come with ink (testers) So don't expect much to be in them.
