Default Good video card for fairly cheap?

I've always got my computer from a local video store since my dad knows the guy, its part video store part computer repair, and we get a good deal. The problem is, he doesn't have the name brand video cards, like Nvidia, etc. So these are my specs ATM:

And my video an ASUS X1600Pro with 256MB, according to System Requirement Labs.

After downloading Grid for pc and I'm still playing CoD2/CoD4, I'm looking for a better video card, without paying millions for it. I want a GeForce or something like that because I've only heard good about them. Any ideas?

They both have 512MB and they should cost around $180-$200.

Great. 100 bucks less than I was expecting to pay, so I could maybe buy a nice mouse with a new game or something.

+rep to you for sure, thank you very much. You sure are a wealth of info
