Default Mac me +6 rep to all helpful answers

Ok here's the deal. I am currently running windows vista, and am looking foward to upgrading to a mac (I know a new leopard coming out mid 2009 but I can't wait)

I am currently looking towards the cheapest Macbook Pro, at S$3033. I just would like to know if it would be able to

    • Shockwave - Habbo
    • Java - Runescape -New HD
    • Play regular flash stuff
    • surf most websites

Also I would like to ask

    • Is it worth it?
    • Should I get another Windows computer?
    • Should I get another kind of mac?

    Thanks

a MacBook Pro just for that? :S Waste much?

probably I will get new interests so I'd better upgrade just in case I need more for the future. This will be like my main computer for the next 4 years lol And by HD I mean "High Detail"

    Thanks though +rep

    Need to spread!

Edit/ Btw, is there any way that I can connect the Macbook Pro to a TV using the standard:

    these cables?

You can't upgrade much (if anything) on a Macbook PRO. Perhaps the RAM..

im not sure if you can do that, but i believe Macbooks and Macbook Pros come with a cable that allows you to hook it up to another monitor?

If you have a modern flat screen slimline television it will most probably have a port on the back for the wire that comes with the MacBook Pro.

Yes it can surf websites, go on Habbo and go on Runescape. You have to check an option with a program setting to be able to run Habbo however.

You can download Firefox 3 (or 2 if you prefer), Opera or Camino if you don't feel Safari is upto the job, I find Safari to be excellent, one of the best browsers I have ever used. It fits right into OS X.

Possibly a MacBook would be better for you, unless you want the bigger screen. Don't get a Windows computer, no. If you ever need to run Windows you can use BootCamp on OS X
    That went fast.

Yeah I can get XP SP2 from my mom's company. As with the Macbook I need the graphics card of the Pro so I won't be getting a macbook. I'm gonna get it a little later though, in oct, thanks for all your help! +rep to nick, samsa and stephen

I'm 100% decided I won't want a windows computer anymore. Btw, the iWork, I know it works with MS office (as in in the file format) but is it any good? Office for mac is very expensive...

Im guessing you don't do things illegal then? Because office 08 for mac is pretty easy to get if you look at places. Well either way, have fun getting your mac I'm sure you will enjoy it.
