    Default A bit of advice

I am staying at my Nan and Grandads house this week.

They do not have a wireless router

If I connect to another unsecured network that I can find around the area, is it illegal?

What would consequences be if they did find out?

And I would of thought surely if they leave their network unsecured then that is their own fault?

It's not like I'm using it for downloading etc anyway, just for browsing the net and checking emails etc.

They could try take legal action but it's highly doubtfull they are going to become aware of it unless they are operatives of MI5 or something.

But i doubt much would become of it if they did find out.

they may just be a little annoyed with you thats all

their fault for leaving it unsecured, they cant expect nobody else to use it once in a while, and even if they do decide to prosecute you'd most likely get a warning or small fine

I wouldn't rely too heavily on it though, depending on how far away the router is it might be a poor connection. Makes trying to talk on msn extremely frustrating
