Road construction, disease and tree threat to Indians

For Indians in the Amazon can contact with the outside world mean the end.

Now fear Brazilian authorities for the tribe's survival

-- A common cold can kill the whole trunk, "says Miriam Ross, spokeswoman for the organisation Survival International.

The Brazilian indianstammen believed to be among the last to not had contact with the outside world. The stunning images are taken from a helicopter and shows how they war painted people are unsettled on the ground and shooting with bow to the plane.

Researchers have known for some indianstammens existence for 20 years but has become close to no knowledge about the people. It is believed that they are related to the Tano or Aruak strain.
    Made a choice

-- They have chosen to live in whole or in part in isolation. In some cases, the only contact with other people occasions when Indians switching products with each other, "says socialantropologen Bernardo to the AP.

He has studied the shy indian tribe in two decades and says that the population has increased over time. But now the Indians lives at risk, many people believe.

The Brazilian government released the photos, taken late in april, for one simple reason - they want to save the strain from being eradicated.

Earlier authorities tried to contact the isolated tribes like this, now do it the other way around. But because there are powerful forces that call into question the tribe's existence was aware the government itself, more or less, forced to publish the pictures.

-- These pictures are evidence that un-contacted tribes actually exist. The world must realize this and make sure that their territory is preserved under international law. Otherwise, they will soon be extinct, "says Miriam Ross, spokeswoman for the organisation Survival International which works to preserve the world's indigenous population.

    Road construction

    - First contact with the outside world is usually a disaster for "undiscovered" strains. It is not uncommon for 50 percent die a few months after the first meeting. They have no immune system against disease outside their own society. A common cold or flu can kill the whole trunk, "says Miriam Ross to the AP.

According to Brazil's National Indian Foundation (FUNAI), there may be 68 unknown indian tribe in Brazil, of which 24 have already been confirmed.

Why exactly should we be worried about some wierd ancient tribe ending? Doesn't seem like a huge deal to me.

Couldn't understand much from the translation.

Why do people keep putting that kind of signature, "best regards" is the worst conclusion to a document that you could ever use.
